Hi, I'm Steven Nunn, sole proprietor and the guy showing up at your door. As I'll be entering your home, you should know a little about me.

After decades of working for others in the construction industry, I finally took the plunge and set out to begin a new chapter in my life. My vision is to combine my skills learned in the trades with my love of artistry and craftsmanship to bring value to the homeowner upgrading their home for a new chapter in their own life.

My skill set is diverse. If you want, I’m the handyman who can apply a drywall patch or install grab bars in your bathroom. I’m the painter who will take great care to produce an attractive room. I’m the contractor who will work with you to find solutions to complexities in your home improvement visions.

If any of this sounds like I might be your guy, give me a call at 503-592-6267.

Best, Steven

My real love is finish carpentry.  Check out photos of the deck, greenhouse, and "chicken palace" I built for my home.

I'm an experienced painter, both interior and exterior. I'm attentive to details and take great care to produce a lovely outcome.

Drywall repair

Drywall repair... What's to say? I've done a lot of it. I always take care to match the texture of your wall/ceiling and minimize any sign of repair.

Flooring and tile installation

I'm experienced at installing wood or vinyl flooring. I've also done a lot of tile work over the years and enjoy it.

For smaller jobs, give me a call.  Note: My license does not permit work on plumbing or electrical.

Took on this greenhouse project late in the first summer of the pandemic. We have a huge garden area, thought a greenhouse might be prudent.  It was a good challenge and a lot of fun to plan and build.

Another pandemic project. Built this "Chicken Palace" for our four girls as they were rapidly outgrowing their box in the laundry room.

New Chapter

This stairwell would be the crown jewel in New Chapter's portfolio if I had saved before and after photos of my work. The homeowners hired me to completely revamp it as they prepared to put the house on the market. The stairs create a visitor’s first impression on walking into the house, but the original construction was poor quality for this high-end house. I stripped the existing stairs down to the structure, replaced the treads and risers, added skirts, installed new balustrades and handrails, and did a good deal of painting and staining throughout. The homeowners were so pleased with the outcome that they kept me on for a LOT more work.

Steve did extensive remodel work on my two high-end coastal rental condominium units at Inn at Otter Crest. The outcome was beautiful! My units were included in a room tour for owners upgrading their units to the Inn's standards for a premium rating.

From my perspective, Steve is old-school carpentry. He loves & knows his craft and it shows. If your goal is superb quality that you will admire years into the future, look no further.
